June Chart Ting

Here is this months chart. An absolute beauty sitting top of the pile! I’ve included a few other snippets if you would like to check out a few more of the tracks, rather than just see words?

Close feat. Joe Dukie – My Way (Dusky Mix) – !K7
Been a big fan of Joe’s voice for years, on Fat Freddys Drop stuff or via releases on Sonar Kollectiv, so when I got this tasty remix through from a current fav of mine, the Dusky boys, I was made up.

Michael Jansons feat. Mizbee – Addiction (MK Half Dub) – Lower East
Ah Marc Kinchen, he’s a boy isn’t he!? That distinguishable sound. Pretty much everything he touches, Straight up bangers!

Pedestrian – Hoyle Rd – Born Electric
I don’t know much about this artist but think he fits into the Bass/Future genre, but who cares. I love this track. A wicked vocal with an air of Sampha/James Blake about it.

Leftwing & Kody – Lost – Exploited
Loving these guys output. It evokes feelings, for me, of the mid-90s H&G sound and that really is a good thing. Trust me!!

The Golden Boy – Higher – HK
My fav cut off an awesome EP on a new Ministry of Sound offshoot, or does that HK stand for Hed Kandi? If it does the music couldn’t be further from what your mind will conjure up thinking of that.

Mike Mago – The Show – Ministry of Sound
Yet more heat from Ministry. Played this in Poland the day after I got it and it got a massive reaction. One of those tracks you hear once and it’s straight in your head.

NRKY feat. Iviee Mercutio (Mark Radford Mix) – Audio Rehab
A perfect blend of the rough (the sub bass) with the smooth (the vocal) for me. Mark Radford continues to solidify his standing in the scene with another strong release on his label.

Twins Of Sound – All I Got – Arch44
Another mention for Poland also, as these guys are an upcoming duo from there and they serve up a tasty EP, with this being my fav cut.

Ninetoes – Finder – Kling Klong
Bit of controversy behind this beauty. Lovebirds originally road tested his version (called The Path which samples a track by Château Neuf) last year but didn’t release it and now Ninetoes has beaten him to the punch and everyone loves the steel drum sampling niceness.

State Unknown – Forever – Promo
Really digging the output from the State Unknown stable this year. This track has the riff from Moby’s ‘Go’ underpinning it and definitely does the business on the floor.
